Of
sacred and historical significance in the origin of Lhasa,
Pum Pu Ri is one of the holiest mountains in Tibet. Both residents
and pilgrims climb the mountain to offer prayers.
Pilgrims
will travel for weeks–by foot–to reach Lhasa and the sacred
sites therein. Nomads from the plateau live in tents year round,
making the journey 'comfortable.' The opportunity to make the
once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage and to attain merit is good
fortune.
